"Ancestors, give me strength!"
From all the characters so far, Nightwolf has by far been the hardest to beat the ladder with. He just does not get along with my playstyle at all. Most of the time I just kind of accidentally stumbled my way to victory by spamming his Shoulder attack. Then Shang Tsung came along and that wasn't effective at all, at which point I discovered Reflect. This time Goro was replaced by Kintaro, who's way more difficult to deal with even with other characters, and without Reflect would have been a very frustrating opponent for my Nightwolf.
When fighting Shao Kahn I quickly found out Reflect works on his Spear Toss, but does nothing for the Hammer Toss. I tried my usual long ranged tactic on Shao for a good while, until I came up with a melee pattern that made short work of him. I couldn't input Reflect consistently enough to reflect the spear every time, and every mistake is really costly in this fight. Not reflecting the spear makes the fight take ages from long range. Just jumping around wildly and Shouldering Shao was a must more fast way to beat him.
