Live or let die

Finally. My Far Cry 2 permanent death run took two months of real time, 48 hours of game time. That does not include failed attempts and time spent practicing. I'd estimate I tried it a bit over a dozen times, some of the attempts having taken place in 2011, and some 2013-2014. Most of the time I failed quite quickly, but there were a couple attempts where I got to 20 hours of play time. If the time spent on the attempts was added together, it would rack up over 100 hours.

As a result of all that time I spent playing this one game, I got to experience I feeling I had forgotten, the feeling of really getting to know a game. Mastering it, if you will. The feeling of really knowing what you're doing and being able to make difficult feats look easy. I now know down to the inricate details how Far Cry 2 works, what makes it tick and what are the rules of the game, and all that I learned through practice. I had forgotten how satisfying that can be.

Completing this game is what brought my unbeat games count lower than the number of completed games. Beat games count is still one below the unbeat ones.
