I hear voices

So for about a full 24 hours now I've been wondering what are these crickets and birds and other sound-making pieces of nature doing in my headphones. Just now I discovered that a process called farcry2.exe has been running in the background all this time, even if I did close it down after it froze when I was playing yesterday. Duh.
